This organization, led by our friend April Chapman (profiled in the Introduction), spreads the message of biblical generosity, especially among those entrusted with much. Founded in 2000 by The Maclellan Foundation, it was launched with a vision to stir a renewed, Spirit-led commitment to generosity among followers of Christ through conversation.

National Christian Foundation (NCF)

The NCF is a Donor Advised Fund (DAF) helping givers mobilize resources by inspiring biblical generosity. They have a huge library of resources. We love how NCF has helped us give more by using creative tax strategies. We faithfully read their Saturday email digest and rely on their expertise in growing into greater generosity.

Praxis

A venture-building ecosystem with a redemptive imagination, supporting founders, funders, and innovators motivated by their faith to address the major issues of our time. They have a journal and podcast, and they offer courses on “redemptive entrepreneurship.” Praxis was influential in starting us on the journey connecting our faith and our capital.

The Gathering

An annual meeting of Christian philanthropists seeking to build community with others in a common desire to follow the Lord in every aspect of their lives, from giving to earning to investing to hospitality – everything. We have been deeply blessed hearing Gathering members’ stories, some of which appear in the pages of this book.

The Lion’s Den (DFW & Birmingham)

Created to fuel the expansion of the Kingdom economy through investing in transformative entrepreneurship. Crown Financial Ministries

Helps people be responsible financial stewards using biblical methods and resources to transforms individuals, families, communities, and even entire nations. We have been Crown devotees since we were engaged to be married and have continued to rely on their resources to steward the financial resources we’ve been given. Sovereign’s Capital

Sovereign’s Capital provides capital and strategic partnership to companies and funds led by faith-driven teams that have the potential for outsized returns and impact. They invest directly in profitable, lower middle market companies, in early-stage technology companies across Seed and Series A stages, in publicly-traded companies, and in domestic real estate with a primary focus on value-add strategies. They also use a fund of funds strategy to invest in venture and private equity fund managers through primaries, secondaries, co-investments, and GP stakes.
